The BRAVIA 9 II Is Sony's Best TV Ever
Sony's Flagship True RGB Television Was Built to Match What the Studio Intended
The BRAVIA 7 II is a genuinely great television. But the Bravia 9 II builds on that foundation and asks: what does absolutely no compromise look like?
The BRAVIA 9 II is Sony’s flagship True RGB television, engineered to reproduce what filmmakers and colorists see on their professional studio monitors when they sign off on a film. For anyone building a dedicated media room, renovating a great room around a statement display, or simply refusing to settle, this is the only viable option. Show & Tell AV carries both the standard 9 II and the exclusive PRO model.

How the Bravia II Builds on Its True RGB Foundation
The 7 II and the 9 II share the same True RGB philosophy. The 9 II isn't taking it a different approach, but simply taking the 7 II foundation to its natural conclusion.
Brightness is where you feel it first. The 9 II nearly doubles the peak brightness of the 7 II. Then there's blooming. On most TVs, bright objects against dark backgrounds bleed outward at the edges. It is pretty subtle at first, but once you notice it, you can't unsee it.
The 9 II has roughly three times as many independently controlled light sources as the 7 II, which means it can flood one section of the screen while keeping the area immediately next to it completely dark. Reviewers ran it through extreme contrast sequences and found virtually no blooming on their demos.
Sony's goal was to match the reference monitors colorists use to approve final film transfers, not to build a great consumer TV.
Built for the Room You Watch In
Sony's own research shows 87% of TV viewing happens in multi-purpose rooms with plenty of ambient lighting. The 9 II was engineered for that reality, not a test lab.
Its Immersive Black Screen Pro coating, developed with Sony Pictures Entertainment and exclusive to the 9 II, absorbs ambient light instead of bouncing it back. A sunny window or overhead fixture won’t take over the action on the screen.
The screen holds its contrast and color regardless of what the room is doing around it. And it delivers that quality to everyone in the room. The person at the end of the sectional sees the same image as the one in the center seat. For a wide open-plan space, that matters more than most single specs on a sheet.
Step It Up With the 115-inch Model
While the 9 II was only available in 65-, 75-, and 85-inch sizes during its first run, Sony is adding a 115-inch model. If you want a cinematic scale without the operational complexity of projection, this is the answer: no screen to lower, no lamp to replace, no need for a darkened room.
One caveat: the 115-inch model does not include the Immersive Black Screen Pro coating, so room lighting becomes a more important planning factor. Our Show & Tell techs will help you create the perfect environment to give the display room a chance to shine.
Like with the 7 II, we recommend upgrading to the PRO model. The hardware is identical, but the PRO includes a 3-year full replacement warranty versus 1-year on the standard, a rechargeable USB-C backlit remote, Voice Zoom 3 dialogue enhancement, and 15 Sony Pictures Core credits with 24 months of streaming.
It's only available through authorized custom integrators. Show & Tell AV is the only way to get it in the Bountiful, UT, area, and along with the TV, you get professional calibration, smart home integration, and real guidance on how to build the room around it.
The BRAVIA 9 II exists for the person who doesn't want a good TV. They want the experience the filmmaker intended, at the scale it deserves, in a room built around it. Show & Tell AV is the right place to make that happen. Contact us to get a peek at what Sony has to offer.
